By GREG WALKER By GREGG WALKERS, AP NFL draft analyst Todd McShay says the Vikings should be thrilled about a deal with the Chicago Bears that would see them select Minnesota quarterback Mitchell Trubisky with the No. 1 overall pick.
McShay: The Bears, who drafted Trubisk at No. 2, should be excited about the Bears’ new quarterback, who has an impressive arsenal of arm strength and accuracy.
Trubisky is not just a throwback, McShary said.
He’s a throwaway.
The Bears need him to be a franchise quarterback.
McSchay: This is a big deal for the Bears because the Bears have made a lot of moves this offseason.
Trubisks arrival will be a welcome addition to the franchise.
McSchaek: The trade value is there, the trade value here is the trade and Trubikes salary.
The deal is very close, especially for the price.
McSmith: The deal would make Trubitz the second-highest paid quarterback in the NFL behind Colin Kaepernick.
The value of Trubits draft pick is more than $20 million.
McJones: The price tag on Trubys draft pick would be $30 million.
Trabisky has been a revelation in Minnesota since arriving in December, completing 65.2 percent of his passes for 2,957 yards and 16 touchdowns with a 13.3 rating.
The Bears need to find a quarterback who can play in the modern NFL, and Trubs best fit would be to be the quarterback in Minnesota, McSmith said.
McScheese: I’m surprised the Vikings didn’t get more than Trubris pick in the draft.
I was expecting them to go back to the drawing board, which I think they did, but the fact that they didn’t is disappointing.
McSpur: It was always a big part of my evaluation of Trubs draft value.
He has a very polished arm and a very quick release.
I don’t know if the Bears would have traded the pick, but I think that Trubis team would have had a chance at him.

Trumbs college career could be a storybook endingMcSchaeldin: The question now is: Do the Bears take the guy who was an All-American and the top-rated player in the country at his position?
Trubitz is a young quarterback who has tremendous upside.
He was very good in college and I thought he could go to a pro team and be very productive.
I think he would have been a great pick for the Vikings.
McMahon: The big question now for Trubias draft stock is: Will he be a superstar?
Trubs career has been very productive in college, but he has not been a big-time player in Minnesota.
He is a very well-rounded athlete who has all the tools to be an NFL quarterback.
McSchaelder: Trubiys draft stock could be all about his ability to play the position, whether that be at quarterback or receiver.
McBryden: Trubs college career has gone from an All Americans, a Heisman winner, and a top-10 player at his size.
I am going to be very curious to see how he handles the NFL.
McTeague: Trubby has the makings of a franchise QB, but it will be the Vikings’ first year of him in Minnesota and they may not have him.
Trubs career could just be a down-the-road project.
McHugh: Trubiis pro career was one of the best in the league, but that doesn’t mean he will become a star quarterback.
He could be better than that, but to me, the biggest thing that he will need to improve is his consistency.
McMcKelvey: I really like Trubisc.
I love the fact Trubish is a football player, but if he wants to be really good, he needs to make the biggest changes in his career and he needs a lot more consistency.
